Let’s talk about something I see all the time: pouring energy into creating “valuable content”—but still seeing crickets when it comes to sales or real audience engagement. If you’ve been feeling like putting value content out there isn’t nurturing your audience (or leading to conversions), this one is for you. I want to break down why simple “valuable” content isn’t enough, what nurturing really means, and how you can tweak your approach for way better results.
Let’s jump into this one!

The Real Client Attraction Process
Let’s start with what the client attraction process actually is. A lot of online advice makes it sound simple: “Post valuable content, then make a bunch of offers.” But jumping straight from reaching people to converting them just doesn’t cut it in our high-competition, online-first business world.
People want connection now more than ever. They don’t want to be dumped in a sales funnel. There’s a higher bar for trust and two-way relationships—especially if you’re working online. People need to feel seen AND see you before they’re ready to give you their credit card details—makes sense, right?
So, I developed a Client Attraction Process model that breaks it down into five steps—with action words for each one, because these are YOUR responsibility:
- Reach: Get in front of the right people with the right message at the right time.
- Nurture: Build an actual relationship—a two-way one!
- Invite: Qualify if someone is really a lead. Invite them to self-identify as ready, willing, and able to work with you.
- Convert: Present a personalised (as possible) offer or pitch. If it fits, they say yes.
- Deliver: Actually deliver what you promised! This step is vital. If you don’t wow your clients, you dry up referral and future growth potential—so delivery is part of attraction too.
What “Nurture” REALLY Means
Here’s the piece that most people get totally wrong. When I ask, “How do you nurture your audience?” the first answer is usually “I create high-value content. I post tips on social media, send out my newsletter, run free webinars, give away resources…” Sound familiar?
But nurturing isn’t just one-way. If all you’re doing is putting content out—blogs, podcasts, lives—you might be HELPFUL, but you’re not necessarily building a relationship.
Nurture is about two-way connection. It’s not just you giving and them receiving (like handing over a PDF in exchange for their email). It’s about actually knowing each other.
Think about it: If I only ever record this podcast and post it each week, sure, you get to know me. But I don’t know you. Shouting into the void doesn’t help me understand who’s listening, what you need, or what questions you have.
If you want your value content to actually nurture, you need conversation, not just broadcasting. You need two-way engagement that lets YOU get to know THEM—otherwise, it’s not really a relationship.
How I Invite Conversation on the Podcast
You’ll notice in my episodes, I ask you to reach out. Got a follow-up question? Want advice tailored to you? There’s always a link in for you to ask: tashcorbin.com/question
If you DM me to say you’re implementing something, I’m excited to hear about it! Yes, I’m curious—but honestly, it’s because I want to get to know you, your business, and what you’re working on. The more our relationship is two-way, the more I know if I can help, or even just point you to the perfect old podcast episode for your situation.
And this is the big take-home: If you want to use value content in the nurture stage, your top goal is to spark TWO-WAY conversation. Not just toss value into the world and hope for the best, but actually get your audience responding and connecting with you—individually.
Examples of Two-Way Nurture Content
Let’s chat specifics. Here’s how you can change your content to encourage response and real back-and-forth:
Social Media
- Don’t just post “Let me know in the comments”! Ask deeper, more individualised questions that people actually want to answer, from multiple angles.
- Go further: Offer something interactive. For example, “I’m a website developer—DM me your link and what you wish your website did better, and I’ll record a free 5-minute video with specific tips just for you.”
- This opens the door for people to reach out, tell you about their business, and gives you the chance to respond with real value—plus, you’re getting to know people as individuals. That’s sexy nurture content!
Quality Questions Over Lazy Prompts
- Skip the boring “What would you do with $5k?” or “What would you want from someone like me?” Instead, ask questions that give you actual insight into their situation—so every response tells you something real, not just a random data point.
- This helps you understand your people and creates true connection.
Newsletter, Blog, Podcast & Feature Content
- Are your emails and longer-form content designed to nurture a two-way relationship? Or is it just info-blast?
- Include CTAs that encourage reply, DM, or a quick feedback form. Let people book a free consult. Invite them to respond and share their scenario so you can reply.
- On a blog or podcast, ask a question, then make it easy for them to respond one-on-one (not just a public comment).
This is how you move from “I’m the expert broadcasting at you” to “we’re building a relationship”—and that’s the bridge from nurture to invitation and conversion.
Why This Changes Lead Generation
Honestly, this tweak makes a HUGE difference in your business. The more one-to-one, two-way relationships you nurture, the more leads you’ll naturally start generating. If you increase the number of people you’re having actual conversations with, you WILL increase your leads. There’s a clear connection.
So ask yourself: In your social posts, emails, blogs—how could you tweak what you say to ask for a direct response or start a two-way chat? Challenge yourself to come up with fun, creative ways to spark conversations and create value content, and watch the magic happen.
