Is your end of day routine powerful? Do you have one?

Welcome to the Heart-Centred Business Podcast with me, Tash Corbin! And this is the first of our 12 Days of #Tashmas for Christmas 2024!

But first: What is #Tashmas?

I do it for both my birthday (1-12 March) and pre-Christmas (1-12 December) every year! You get a daily podcast episode, with a hot tip or practical strategy as per usual… but you ALSO get a present every day! It could be a freebie, a special offer, a competition… something fun every single day.

I’m super-stoked to kick off the 12 days of #Tashmas with a little dive into what helps me be more productive AND effective – my end of day routine. This little ritual is like magic for productivity and helps me switch off work to truly enjoy life outside my business.

Let’s dive right in!

The Routine That Grounds My Day

No matter what time I wrap up, my end of day routine is the same. Whether it’s a quick ninety-minute morning or a full-day hustle, I stick to it. Maybe you’ve already heard my full starting and ending routine, but I specifically want to speak about the four steps to how I end my day, and why it’s so powerful.

This routine isn’t just about finishing the day strong; it’s about setting up tomorrow for success as well.

1. Income Tracking: Important for money mindset!

I track my income every single day. Why? Because what gets tracked, gets improved. This habit doesn’t just keep me informed; it gives me insights into my business patterns. (Resisting tracking your income? I did too… check out this episode for what happened.) Plus, it gives me juicy material for journaling and gets me thinking about what actions are driving my income. It’s like having a daily check-in with my business health.

2. Journaling: But keep it short and sweet

A couple of sentences are all it takes. This quick journaling session is often about my progress or how I’m feeling. It’s about getting honest with myself. I’ve got a tendency to be head-down-hustle-hard, so journaling lets me stop and feel. It’s my chance to validate my feelings and check in with my inner mentor.

3. Planning Tomorrow: My key to actually switching off

Next, I flip to the planner for tomorrow’s top tasks. This is a game-changer for my peace of mind. Think of tomorrow’s priorities as a promise to myself – everything I need to remember is already laid out. No more worrying during dinner or movie nights about what’s next.

4. Shutting Down: More than just closing a laptop

Yes, I shut my laptop down every day. Tabs, emails, everything gets closed. Not only that, I have a powerful, but very simple thing that I do as part of that routine – laptop lid goes down, planner goes on top. I’m setting myself up to focus on strategic tasks the next day. When you struggle to close your laptop, it’s like your brain is echoing that clutter. I’ve been there, balancing a million thoughts and ideas. Closing down keeps my mind clear – what would it feel like inside your brain if you ACTUALLY could close all those tabs?

Okay… but why is this part of the routine so dang powerful?

This isn’t just about getting stuff done; it’s a whole mindset shift. By writing my tasks and shutting down properly, I make space to breathe. It keeps my brain switched off from tomorrow’s tasks, even when I’m relaxing. Turns out, it’s a win for my business and my personal life.

Planner on top: the simplest but most powerful habit I’ve found

Placing my planner on my laptop is my anchor. I can’t open my computer without literally picking up my priorities for the day. It’s about aligning my start of day with what truly matters – my priorities, not someone else’s demands. When you’re constantly checking emails or social media first thing, you’re making everyone else’s needs more important. Start with what matters to you!

Your first gift for #TASHMAS!

Excited for Tashmas? I am! And here is your first little treat…

If my routine resonates with you and you’re curious about the Heart-Centred Business Planning System, I’ve got just 10 printed copies left for purchase. Normally I only print to order, and you need to buy them before 24th November… but every year I get messages from people wishing they’d found the planning system sooner, or wishing they had got the print version. So for #Tashmas I ordered TEN extra copies, so I could offer them to podcast listeners and late-comers.

These planners are an entire year-long road map. They’re designed to help you stay strategic and focused – perfect if you’re ready to step into CEO mode.

If you’d like to grab one of the TEN print copies remaining of the Heart-Centred Business Planning System, you’ll need to head to THIS POST and be one of the first ten to comment! We will send you a secret checkout link so you can grab your print planning system. AND as always, the system includes an entire year of support, mentoring, community… and more. We have yearly planning calls, quarterly planning calls… you get a chance to reset if you have dropped off using your plan, and you also get a chance to workshop your strategy to ensure you’re balancing your work and life, and being as productive as you can in the easiest way for YOU.

AND DON’T FORGET – there are DAILY podcast episodes for the 12 days of #Tashmas! See you tomorrow for another practical episode, and another special gift.

Thank you so much for joining me for this episode of the podcast!

Until next time, I cannot WAIT to see you SHINE.
